Background

Founded in 1989 by Clive Humby and Edwina Dunn, dunnhumby emerged during the 1990s as a specialised provider of customer focused analytical and targeting services. From the beginning, it gained the interest of a range of high profile clients.

In 1995 dunnhumby was asked by Tesco to help with the launch of their new Clubcard scheme, which started a relationship that continues today. Our focus on the customer and behavioural insight has played a key role in enabling Tesco to become one of the world's most successful retailers.

Today, dunnhumby is proud to work on behalf of more than 150 companies worldwide. Our sales are in excess of $200m and we employ more than 700 people in the UK, Ireland, France, the United States and India.

We believe that there are two types of organisation in consumer marketing, those that try to sell what they have and those that endeavour to be relevant to their customers through the products they create, the services they provide and the way they connect through communication. We believe that the only sustainable model for generating long term brand value is the latter.
