dunnhumby was established in South Africa in 2012 to help retail partner Shoprite better understand its customers and apply those insights to deliver better shopping experiences and more relevant marketing. Collaborating closely with Shoprite and its suppliers, we analyse the shopping behaviour of more than 7.5 million customers to better predict and meet their needs – in- and out-of-store, online and off – all to earn their lasting loyalty. Shoprite is the number one retailer in South Africa and in 2013 its gross revenue reached R92 billion.
The team, based in Cape Town, is currently working with a continuously growing client base of prestigious companies across a large number of categories, including Unilever, P&G, Colgate, Coca-Cola and Kimberly Clark.

Our South African team is headquartered in Brackenfell, a small Afrikaans-speaking suburb just a short drive from the amazing culture, cuisine and climate of Cape Town’s ocean-side city centre. Sharing a space with our retail partner Shoprite, we’re fully integrated in their day-to-day and well-positioned to ensure customers are always at the heart of their decision making.
