Every year, I set my objectives with my manager for the next 12 months. It makes it simple for me to understand what is expected of me and where I can excel.


I also receive structured feedback from my peers 6 months after setting the objectives. So I know what I am doing well and how I can do better.


I have found the process very effective and I feel any good work I have done has always been highlighted and rewarded through it.


As well as salary and bonus, I also use my flexible benefits to get discounted gym membership, private healthcare and dental care. We also get what is called a Treat Yourself Allowance. This is a few hundred pounds allowance you get once a year. I used mine this year to help pay for a amazing trip to Vietnam.

So there are always opportunities for you to advance your career, which I think is really important so early on in my career.

I want a salary and benefits package that suits me


Considering I joined dunnhumby straight out of college, I have a very competitive salary and benefits package. My friends are pretty jealous of the 25-days of paid vacation I get a year!


But it’s not only in the traditional package that dunnhumby rewards its people. Since joining, I’ve taken advantage of benefits including walking my local grocery store with a nutritionist (helpful since Mom isn’t cooking any more) and using our free state-of-the-art gym. The most rewarding thing for me though is the potential for career progression. Because the company is growing so fast, there is a big emphasis on developing its talent to take responsibility quickly. That’s really exciting, as I’ve been given challenges that will stand me in good stead for the rest of my career.
