The goal of our analyses is to provide shopper/consumer insights that lead to business actions and results. Our Analysts are client-facing and share in the delivery of their work to the client. They provide support to internal and external clients in the design and execution of customer analysis projects. Our insights are simultaneously driving better execution in many areas such as pricing, promotions, assortment, innovation, local marketing, formats, service and loyalty – all through a consistent view of the customer. Analysts are involved with applying data mining and statistical analysis techniques by using regression, forecasting and behavior-based analytics to make actionable recommendations.
At dunnhumby all our work starts with the data. We store and analyse over 800 terabytes of transactional data. We process more than a billion rows of data each week, managing some of the world’s largest and most complex databases. The team charged with this responsibility is Core Delivery.
Core Delivery is responsible for all data management, technological infrastructure and application development at dunnhumby.
Our people liaise with some of the world’s leading retailers to identify and source this data. It is then processed and fed into a variety of dunnhumby tools (including in-house software applications) allowing colleagues worldwide to deliver clear customer insight to their clients - retailers and manufacturers alike - to enable better business decisions.
The team is split into three areas, Development, Services and Solutions/Product Management:
Based across India, the United Kingdom and United States the Core Delivery team represents one fifth of dunnhumby employees and offers a wide range of IT, software development, data management and project management roles to shape an exciting career.

Jarlath PhelanI came to London for university, so I knew the place well before I joined dunnhumby. It’s a great place to live. There is always something to do. With the overground train, you can be in Paddington 20 minutes after you leave the office if you want to do something in central London.
I live in Hammersmith and the commute is excellent. It’s about 25 minutes and Tube is quiet. Most other people are going the opposite direction, into central London.
Ealing is a good place to work. There a plenty of shops and restaurants if you want to pop out at lunch time and a park nearby for lunch on nice days. Of course, there are also a few pubs as well for the occasional drink after work.
Scott AnkersAs a client lead, there's no doubt that my communication skills have been tested. I took a lot of communication and public speaking classes in college, but those presentations were in front of classmates - not Fortune 100 companies! With training and mentoring, dunnhumby has taught me to take data and turn it into insight and eventually into a story. I now regularly conduct trainings, deliver projects and explain difficult analytical concepts in easy to understand terms.
So being able to communicate to specific audiences is one vital skill as a client lead - but the ability to build trusting and productive relationships is just as important. Being personable, passionate and inquisitive about a client's business is key to earning their confidence in your abilities and insight. After just one month in my role, I even had the opportunity to test my new skills at a new product analysis presentation in front of a client in San Diego, California!
Paritosh RaiGraduating as an Engineer from university, I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers because of the sheer absoluteness and certainty they offer. I also have an interest in people and how they behave. Joining as an Associate Analyst working with the dunnhumby Kroger business in the US has given me the chance to explore both of these interests.
The role involves extracting the information I need from our databases and turn this into actionable analysis. The client leads in the US then use that to make recommendations to our clients. As a new recruit, I was given systematic technology training on the tools and software we need to work on. So despite the fact I face new challenges on most days, I have been given both the skill set and the support I need to make sure I deliver for our clients.
Jessica TepasIn college, I was always the one who wanted to be involved in every activity. Joining a sorority, dancing at football games, getting involved in my community and balancing school work never seemed to be an issue. I think that having the passion to be involved and being organized enough to get everything done were two of the main skills that made me a perfect match for a position at dunnhumby.
Similarly, these activities also taught me to ask questions and be outgoing. In my position, I talk to a lot of clients on a daily basis. Being curious and confident enough to find out what their real business needs are is key to finding the right solution for their business.
So the role is quite demanding, but dunnhumby has put the support in place to build on the skill set I had after college to make sure I can do a great job.
