"If there’s one thing that has truly shaped my journey at dunnhumby, it’s the unique blend of innovation, ownership, and continuous learning. With over 10 years in the IT industry, I’ve had the opportunity to work across multiple organisations, but the last three years at dunnhumby have been especially transformative. I joined dunnhumby three years ago as a Service Transition Manager. What started as a transition role quickly evolved into an opportunity to step into a Technical Product Manager position within the FinOps space opening doors to a more strategic, product- and engineering-driven way of working, and redefining my perspective on impact.
At dunnhumby, being a cloud-first organisation means every innovation is powered by cloud and with that comes the responsibility of building sustainably. In my role, I operate at the intersection of product, engineering, and financial governance driving FinOps as a product capability embedded within engineering workflows. Through practices such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups, I work closely with engineering and data teams to ensure that cost optimisation is seamlessly integrated into the development lifecycle. Using tools like Jira, by translating cost insights into actionable epics and user stories, enabling teams to deliver high-value solutions while remaining mindful of cloud efficiency and budgets.
What makes this journey even more meaningful is the cultural shift we’ve been able to drive. Conversations around cloud costs have become proactive, data-driven, and aligned with business goals. Teams are empowered to innovate and scale, but with a strong sense of ownership and accountability something that truly reflects the values and culture at dunnhumby.
On a personal level, this journey has pushed me beyond traditional career boundaries. Every day brings new challenges and new learning whether it’s optimising cloud usage, enabling teams with better visibility, or now stepping into the evolving space of AI cost optimisation. The pace of change keeps the excitement alive and fuels a constant desire to learn and grow.
What stands out most, however, is the culture open, collaborative, and always encouraging you to take ownership and make an impact. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue building on this journey driving product-led FinOps practices, enabling smarter, AI-driven cost optimisation, and contributing to a future where dunnhumby continues to scale innovation responsibly, sustainably, and with real impact."
