dunnhumby announces Adriano Araujo as new president for Latin America

  • The executive was one of the founders of dunnhumby Brazil and takes over a new role after leading the company’s operations in Asia and Oceania

14 January 2022 – dunnhumby, the global leader in Customer Data Science, has just announced Adriano Araujo as the new president for the Latin American region. The executive was one of the founders of dunnhumby in Brazil, where he worked for six years in a movement that represented the arrival of consumer data science in the country. After a two-year stint as president of the company for Asia and Oceania, he returns to lead dunnhumby’s growth in Latin America.

With more than 25 years of experience in leveraging changes in retail and digital transformation, Araujo has great knowledge of the region, in which he served as general director of Symphony Retail AI in Brazil between 2016 and 2019. His experience leading dunnhumby in Asia will also bring learnings to boost retailers and partners in Latin America, with both regions a period of rapid change, and ahead of other markets on the sharp rise in adoption of digital channels.

“With digital transformation, physical money is replaced by virtual transactions, and mobile screens become the new stores. We see that both Asia and Latin America are making significant changes to increase focus on digital channels, with executives from both markets experimenting with how to react and interact with super apps, as we’re already seen in Asia with WeChat, Gojek and Grab and ecosystems like Tencent, Alibaba and Flipkart,” explains Araujo.

For the executive, the return to the American continent comes at a crucial time for the future of data use in the region; with the challenge overcome in the first decade of the 2000s to convince retailers and industries to share relevant consumer data, the mission now is to support these players in a world filled with data.
