Celebrating People Policies

At dunnhumby we believe that everyone should be able to bring their authentic selves to work and that includes sharing all those important life events

dunnhumby exists to defy expectations, but we couldn’t do that without our innovative and brilliant dunnhumbians. We understand that our people are our best and most treasured asset, and with that we try and incorporate leading people policies; giving dunnhumbians the flexibility they need to balance home life and work. Which is why we’re thrilled to share that we recently got mentioned for our family friendly policies by ‘A Different Me’, which focuses on fulfilling a blend of work and family life.

We reached out to our own Chief People Officer, Denise Sefton to ask her what this post meant to her...

What this post means to us

We're incredibly proud of our family friendly policies here and it’s lovely to see that our people are sharing their positive experiences with others.

At dunnhumby we believe that everyone should be able to bring their authentic selves to work and that includes sharing all those important life events, and the new challenges which sometimes come along with it!

Our family friendly policies here at dunnhumby

When we introduced our matched shared parental leave in the UK in 2019 we wanted to make sure we offered an equal opportunity for everyone to spend time with their new family at that all important early stage. For us, that meant the decision to match our enhanced Shared Parental Leave pay to the same level as Maternity Leave pay was critical, to help make it a feasible option for our dunnhumbian families to try and juggle careers, finances and family time.

We also know that not everyone’s journey to expand their family runs smoothly and we’ve recently introduced new policies to support those who experience pregnancy loss or who are going through fertility treatment. These policies ensure our dunnhumbians can take time off when they need it most and are open to everyone regardless of gender.

While our flexible working policies aren’t just for those with children, our blended approach of time in the office as well as time working from home, also allows our people to find the right balance of work and personal commitments. For example, our Temporary Working Overseas Policy allows our dunnhumbians to work remotely anywhere in the world for up to a month. Whether it be for a thirst to explore new countries or to support their friends and family abroad, our policies put our people first.
